Coffee, Other News and More Wednesday February 14, 2024.
What It’s Like to Eat a Robot Human–edible robot interaction is the newest robotics subfield.Every morning before I go for coffee, I down load a number of news feed to read while having coffee. Sort of my own private newspaper.
One of the feeds I regularly down load is the IEEE Spectrum feed. The International Electrical Engineers and Electricians (IEEE) is a “proud supporter of all things electrical and especially wireless and robotics on behalf of the industry. Or as they state “IEEE and its members inspire a global community to innovate for a better tomorrow through highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. IEEE is the trusted “voice” for engineering, computing, and technology information around the globe.”
While these robots in the article may not be as intricate as and contain no electronic parts we have come to associate with robots guess it does fit a definition of robotics does not fit my definition nor does it fit what I think of as food.
It does seem to dovetail with the spirit behind Klaus Schwab’s “you will eat bugs” rhetoric.
