Surprised me a bit when the opposition parties quickly supported Blaine Calkin’s Private member’s bill C368. The good news on this bill is it passed second reading yesterday May 29 th 2024.
Now I understand why. the budget act for 2024 includes provisions to allow the minister of Health to remove products that in their belief are unsafe, no science required just a belief.
Yes in society beliefs have a place, but, that is only in religious situations. The minister’s belief in what products are safe is not a place that beliefs should over rule proof. The current Budget Bill allows the minister to act on their beliefs and not even be encumbered by pesky regulations.

The above video also includes a CBC article where the Minister of Health is quoted as being in favour or un restricted use of their belief to remove natural health products.
We the people have supported the bill to remove the restrictive policies in the last budget, It appears we will have to mount a similar campaign again -this time focus on the NDP and demand they not support the current budget bill. Yes it will defeat and collapse the government but the current government has exceeded it remit and advancing into areas of dictatorial suppression of the people
