What level of Electromagnetic Radiation is safe? A question I am frequently asked

Power level is irrelevant. Radio waves are harmful, period!

One of the substacks I subscribe to is Arthur Firstenberg’s, Arthur has a degree in mathematics and went on to medical school but, unfortunately he had to drop out due to medical issues he associated with being electromagnetic hypersensitive. For the past thirty-eight years he has been a researcher, consultant, and lecturer on the health and environmental effects of electromagnetic radiation, as well as a practitioner of several healing arts. He is the founder of the independent campaign group the Cellular Phone Task Force He is the author of two publications on electromagnetic radiation The Invisible Rainbow : A History of Electricity and Life and Microwaving Our Planet: The Environmental Impact of the Wireless Revolution (Cellular Phone Task Force 1997).

In a substack he posted April 04, 2024 Power level is irrelevant. Radio waves are harmful, period! His title reminded me of a conversation I had with a medical doctor a couple of years ago. The doctor was well aware of EMF issues and I had met him through his support of a groups ultimately unsuccessful efforts to stop a cell tower. He asked me what level of radiation did I think was safe? My response, was a question, “How many cigarettes was it safe for me to smoke” He immediately appreciated that none is best. With EMR the same response applies.

Before one protests there are natural sources of EMR. Yes. there are. These natural sources are different than the high levels of radiation we are now exposed to.

1. The natural levels are many orders of magnitude lower than radiation transmitted today.

2. The natural levels are not pulsed, nor are they modulated. The radiation of some of the greatest concern today is both.

3. The natural radiation is not polarized with few exceptions all man created radiation is polarized.

These are some of the prime differences between man made and natural radiation.

The argument that radiation is used in some medical healing procedures is not significant when ones considers the vast range of frequencies and intensities etc we are exposed to today. Yes in controlled environments it can hasten healing but, these are controlled to a limited range of conditions and still have the potential for being the sources of future radiation issues. At best the use of them can be thought of the cure was more important than the downstream risks. Not a comfortable choice to make when one is ailing.

Rather than go through his April 04, 2024 stack Power level is irrelevant. Radio waves are harmful, period! Line by line, I encourage everyone to read it. The stack is a series of quotes from luminaries in the field studying electromagnetic radiation.
